Islamorada, Florida Keys, July 14, 2009 – The Board of Directors
and sponsors for Casting for Cats are pleased to announce two new
Florida Keys fishing tournaments scheduled for 2010. Proceeds from
both tournaments are slated to benefit local charities.
The “La Siesta Sail/Bone,” a new and never before done tournament, is a two-day event scheduled to kick off on Friday, January 8 and end Sunday January 10. Anglers will have two days to catch as many sailfish and bonefish as they can. “How good are you?” will be the big question of the weekend.
The “Florida Keys Survivor” is a three-day backcountry fishing tournament scheduled for March 11-14, 2010. The tournament will test which team can survive three days of head-to-head fishing in the Florida Keys backcountry.
The charities that will receive the proceeds from these tournaments are as follows:
• Wild Bird Center
• Turtle Hospital
• Shriner’s Children’s Hospital
• Upper Keys United Way
• Caring for Cats Clinic
• Matecumbe Historical Trust
• Marvelous Pet Rescue

Casting for Cats is thankful to everyone for their ongoing support and looks forward to raising a lot of money for so many great causes. Don’t forget, Casting for Cats Women’s Backcountry Tournament is October 16-17, 2009.
Casting for Cats is a volunteer group who freely gives their time and support for the feral cats of the Upper Keys. We are a non-profit charity so all the money raised stays in the Upper Keys for the spay/neuter clinic and caring for feral cats. After the success of our annual women’s backcountry tournament, Casting for Cats, the organization has decided to branch out to assist additional area charities.
